Barton S. Strock
Barton Strock received his Bachelor of Arts from Brooklyn College in 1971 and his Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School in 1977. He was admitted to practice law in New York in 1997 and Florida in 1978. After serving as a juvenile prosecutor and in the Special Litigation Division for the New York City Corporation Counsel, he moved to Florida in 1979. Prior to joining Strock & Cohen, P.A., Mr. Strock was a partner in London & Strock, P.A. and Law Offices of Barton S. Strock, P.A. He served as President and CEO of one of Florida’s largest title insurance agencies where he participated in over ten thousand real estate closings. In addition to his work in residential and commercial real estate transactions, Mr. Strock also practices in the areas of real estate litigation, foreclosure defense, landlord tenant, title insurance claims, as well as business organizations and formation. He has previously practiced in the areas of community association law, business law, estate planning and probate, and general practice so that he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the current real estate practice. He is a member of the Florida Bar and its Real Property, Probate and Trust Law, Trial Law and Business Law sections. He is also a member of the Broward County Bar Association, the South Broward Board of Realtors, the Realtor Association of Miami Dade County, and Business Networking International (BNI) Elite Chapter. He has previously served on the Board of Trustees of Temple Dor Dorim in Weston. He lectures extensively on matters of real estate law and regularly teaches several classes for realtors on real estate contracts, real estate law, closings, and real estate updates. In 2007, Mr. Strock was certified by the Supreme Court of Florida as a Circuit Civil Mediator. He conducts mediations in real estate and other civil matters. He has been married to Sarah since 1984 and they have two children. They reside in Weston since 1988.
JULIE GONZALEZ COHEN
Julie Gonzalez Cohen received her Bachelor of Business Administration from University of Miami 1991 and her Juris Doctorate from University of Miami School of Law in 1994. She was admitted to practice law in Florida in 1994. For the next ten years, Ms. Cohen served as law clerk to the Honorable Mario P. Goderich at the Third District Court of Appeals for the State of Florida analyzing both civil and criminal appeals for Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties. In 2005, she joined one of the largest title agencies in the State of Florida as General Counsel handling residential and commercial real estate transactions as well as risk management. In the years since, she worked as an Associate with the Law Offices of Barton S. Strock, P.A. until she became a partner in the firm of Strock & Cohen, P.A. In addition to her experience in residential and commercial real estate transactions, Ms. Cohen also practices in the areas of real estate litigation, including foreclosures and landlord tenant matter, as well as business entities. She is a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law section of the Florida Bar, an affiliate member of the South Broward Board of Realtors, and an active member of Business Networking International (BNI) Winning Edge Chapter. She has served as Co-Chair for Mitzvah Day at Temple Dor Dorim in for the past four years and serves on the Board of the Weston Philharmonic Society. She regularly volunteers at her children’s schools and teaches realtors about real estate contracts and closing statements In 2007, Ms. Cohen was certified by the Supreme Court of Florida as a Circuit Civil Mediator.
